Outdoor safety notice
GeoSus is played while walking in the real world. I make it as a hobby, alone, and I cannot see what you see. The app does not know about traffic, holes in the ground or an angry dog. You do. Use your head before you use the phone, and play at your own risk.
Stop and look up
If you are about to cross a road, a car park or a bike path, stop, put the phone down and look. No task is worth it. The game can wait and so can your team.
Where to play
- Pick a park or open public ground with no through traffic. Check the play area on the map before you start.
- Stay off roads, rails, water edges, building sites, private property and anything fenced or signed as closed.
- Do not play in places you do not know alone, and do not play in the dark.
- Do not play while driving, riding a bike or on a scooter.
While you play
- Walk. Do not run while looking at the screen.
- A task may be placed on a spot that is unsafe or not reachable. The app tries to avoid roads and water but it can be wrong. Skip it.
- Weather, heat, cold and low battery are your call. Stop when it stops being fun.
- Be kind to people outside the game. They did not sign up for a meeting at the base.
Help button
The app has a HELP button on the play screen. Hold it for two seconds and the game pauses for everyone so you can sort out a problem. It does not call emergency services. In an emergency call your local emergency number (112 in the EU).
Younger players
GeoSus is meant for ages 16 and up. Younger players should play only with an adult who is there.
